Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during my first session?

Once you make contact with Polaris Psychology we will have a chat about your needs in order to decide whether we are the right service for you. Our first session will consist of asking you questions and getting to know you and your goals. From there we will often discuss treatment options and outline an individualised treatment plan to support you moving forward.

How will my information be handled?

We take the privacy of your information very seriously. As psychologists we are bound by ethical and legal obligations to keep your information confidential. The exceptions to this includes when a psychologist seeks support from their clinical supervisor, where they are compelled by law to release your information, or when we have concerns about your imminent safety or the safety of others. Wherever possible, we will discuss with you first if we need to release your information to another party.

Do I need a referral?

No you do not need a referral. Simply complete the contact form on our website and we will get back in touch with you.

How much will it cost?

Sessions are $200 (including GST) for individuals and organisations. Assessments requiring school observations, testing, and report writing will be charged on an hourly basis.
